Okla. Commissioner Names Williams Insurance Professional of the Month

July 14, 2011

In a new effort to recognize members of the insurance industry for their contributions to consumers and community, Insurance Commissioner John Doak named Farmers Insurance Group District Manager Pepper Williams as the first recipient of the Oklahoma Insurance Professional of the Month Award.

Doak, who took office in January, instituted the monthly awards program through the Oklahoma Insurance Department to commend insurance agents, brokers, adjusters, executives and other industry employees for exemplary performance on behalf of the customers and communities they serve.

Williams was chosen for his nearly 40 years of service to Farmers customers, his advancement of catastrophe response techniques, his educating and mentoring of young agents in the critical field of customer service, and his community involvement through the Rotary Club, membership in Southern Hill Baptist Church and the South Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce, plus charitable efforts such as the March of Dimes and Coats for Kids.

Nominations for the award can be submitted to the Insurance Department through its Web site at http://oid.ok.gov and recipients will be selected by a panel of their peers in the industry.
