Independent Insurance Agents of Texas (IIAT) announced that Susan Tyner, commercial marketing account executive for Allred Thompson Mason Daugherty, a division of Higginbotham & Assocs. in Wichita Falls, was awarded the Accredited Customer Service Representative (ACSR) of the Year at IIAT’s 115th Annual Conference and Trade Show in San Antonio.
This award is given annually to an ACSR in Texas who exemplifies outstanding leadership and service to the independent agency system and to the public.
Tyner has been active for years in the Federation of Insurance Women in Texas. She is at home in the classroom as well as the agency and teaches as a certified instructor for FIWT. She has been recognized twice by the North Texas Insurance Professionals as Professional of the Year. In 2008, she was elected as the state President of the Federation of Insurance Women of Texas.
In her community, Tyner serves on the Board of Directors at First Step Inc., a non-profit agency that provides a safe and secure haven for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. She also volunteers at the Children’s Aid Society which is a home for physically and sexually abused children. In her spare time, she volunteers with Meals On Wheels delivering food to those in need. Currently, Tyner is working to organize a benefit for the North Texas Insurance Professionals to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association.
In addition to receiving the award, Tyner received $1,500 from Myron Steves and the chance to win the national competition later this year.
