Tejas American General Agency (TAGA) in Cedar Park, Texas, has is partnered with Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company to donate $5,000 to the Liberty Hill (Texas) Fire Department to fund specialized swift water rescue training.

“We cover 140 square miles in this region that can have significant flooding, so this training is vital to our firefighters,” said Fire Chief Mark McAdams. “The better trained we are, the better we are able to protect and serve our town and neighboring communities when a major storm hits our region.”

The grant is part of a nationwide philanthropic program funded by Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. The program is designed to provide needed equipment; training and educational tools to local fire departments and burn prevention organizations.

Since 2004, Fireman’s Fund has issued grants to nearly 1,900 different organizations totaling more than $29 million—including more than $1.7 million in Texas.

Through the program, independent insurance agencies and brokers that sell Fireman’s Fund products, like TAGA are able to direct these grants to support the fire service.

“We’re proud to support the Liberty Hill Fire Department. They do a great job throughout the year protecting area residents throughout the year in all sorts of conditions,” said Anita Herzog of TAGA.
