11 Companies to Approved to Self-Insure for Workers’ Comp in Texas

The Texas Department of Insurance-Division of Workers’ Compensation has approved 11 companies self-insure for workers’ compensation claims.

To qualify, a company must have a minimum workers’ compensation insurance unmodified manual premium of $500,000 and meet other requirements subject to annual review.

The following companies received self-insurance certificates:

  • Associated Wholesale Grocers Inc., Kansas City, Kan.
  • Bradford Holding Co. Inc., Corpus Christi, Texas
  • E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Co., Wilmington, Del.
  • The Sherwin-Williams Co., Cleveland, Ohio
  • Emerson Electric Co., St. Louis, Mo.
  • FedEx Freight Inc., Harrison, Ark.
  • International Paper Co., Memphis, Tenn.
  • Guardian Industries Corp., Auburn Hills, Mich.
  • James Construction Group LLC, Baton Rouge, La.
  • Louisiana-Pacific Corp., Portland, Ore.
  • The Procter & Gamble Co., Cincinnati, Ohio
