Oklahoma School District Looking to Repair Earthquake Damage

September 30, 2015

Structural engineers are assessing the damage caused by a July earthquake at Crescent Public Schools buildings in Oklahoma.

The 4.5 magnitude earthquake hit Crescent on July 27. Superintendent Mickey Hart told the Enid News & Eagle the district evacuated part of the high school building after finding infrastructure damage to the practice gymnasium walls.

Hart says engineers have inspected every building for damage but they still haven’t come up with a repair plan or cost estimate for the project. He says the district could consider building new facilities if more damage is found.
