Dallas-based International Risk Management Institute Inc. (IRMI), has appointed Joel A. Appelbaum as vice president of knowledge resources.
Appelbaum will serve as a member of the IRMI executive team and is responsible for all strategic and tactical leadership for the development and continuous improvement of knowledge products and services.
He has more than 25 years of experience with the insurance industry. Before joining IRMI, Appelbaum was the president of the construction division for ProSight Specialty Insurance. He specialized in providing insurance solutions for the construction industry.
Previously, he was the enterprise chief risk officer for Zurich Insurance in North America and the chief underwriting officer at Zurich Direct Underwriters. Prior to that, he was the construction risk officer at CNA Insurance. Appelbaum also has served as a senior officer of the Argonaut Great Central Insurance Company in Chicago.
He holds the professional CPCU, ARM, and AIS designations from the Insurance Institute of America.
