Texas-Based ITC Adds Extra Layer of Security to TurboRater

August 3, 2016

Carrollton, Texas-based agency marketing, rating and management software and services firm, Insurance Technologies Corp. (ITC), announced the addition of two-factor authentication to its comparative rating and sales system, TurboRater.

When agents who have enabled this enhanced security measure log into TurboRater with their username and password, they will be prompted to enter an additional one-time code.

Each user can decide to receive his or her verification code via text message, phone call or a third-party app like Google Authenticator, Duo or Authy.

“Our users enter critical data into TurboRater every day, so it’s important to us that we help them keep their information secure,” Laird Rixford, president of ITC, said in the company’s announcement. “We will continue to prioritize security initiatives like two-factor authentication to better protect our products and the information it stores for our agents.”

Agency administrators can configure the two-factor authentication settings by user. The administrator can also configure whether to remember the authentication on the computer after first login or to force the authentication every time.
