June 26, 2018

The Independent Insurance Agents of Texas (IIAT) honored Harlingen independent insurance agent Bob Shepard with its Paige Eiland Political Action Award at IIAT’s 121st Annual Conference and Trade Show in San Antonio.

The Paige Eiland Award recognizes an agent whose political involvement has had a great impact on the independent insurance agency system. The award has only been presented five times since its inception 13 years ago. It was last presented in 2013 to Al Boenker of Fort Worth. The award is named for Paige Eiland of Stanton, Texas, a longtime IIAT member who worked tirelessly on behalf of agents in both state and federal political arenas.

Shepard is a past board member and president of both IIAT and the IIAT Services Boards. He has served on IIAT’s Legislative Committee and most recently served as the chairman of the IIAT IMPACT Board of Trustees. Shepard serves nationally on the IIABA Insurpac Board and has played a critical role through his service on the TWIA Board of Directors.

IIAT also named Christine Davis of TexCap Insurance in Dallas its Account Manager of the Year. This award is given annually to an account manager in Texas who exemplifies outstanding leadership and service to the independent agency system and to the public at large.
