Twenty people have been taken to El Paso hospitals for treatment after a charter bus ran off a road southeast of the city.
Texas Department of Public Safety Lt. Elizabeth Carter says the accident happened along an Interstate 10 frontage road near the town of Tornillo.
She says the bus was supposed to drive onto the interstate but instead continued on the frontage road and crashed through a barrier when the road came to an end.
She says it’s not clear what caused the driver to miss the I-10 entrance. The bus came to a stop upright.
There were 25 passengers on the bus. Carter says those taken to hospitals all had minor injuries.
KFOX-TV in El Paso reports that the bus belongs to Misioneros Bus Line, based in El Paso.
