Texas Insurance Department: Board, Committee Slots Open at SLTX, TWIA

The Texas Department of Insurance is accepting applications for a number of boards and committees, including for the Surplus Lines Stamping Office of Texas (SLTX) board of directors and the Texas Windstorm Insurance Association (TWIA) board.

Two public member positions are open at SLTX. Applicants must have a minimum of three years’ experience in purchasing commercial insurance.

Open positions at the TWIA board include one first-tier coastal county resident position and one non-seacoast territory resident position.

The following insurance-related entities also have openings for board and committee members:

• Standard Request Form for Prior Authorization of Prescription Drug Benefits Advisory Committee: one health benefit plan issuer position; one health benefit plan networks of providers position; one health care provider position (other than physicians); one specialty pharmacy position; one specialty pharmacy distributor position
• Texas Automobile Insurance Plan Association (TAIPA) Governing Committee: one alternate public position
• Texas Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Association Board of Directors: one other insurer* representative position (* a representative from member insurers other than those top 50-member insurers having the largest direct premium income)
• Texas Property and Casualty Insurance Guaranty Association Board of Directors: one industry position and one public position
• Texas Title Insurance Guaranty Association Board of Directors: one public member position
