People Moves: Brost Joins BSBD in Texas as EVP; Russell Named Oklahoma WCC Chairman, Liotta Resigning

Boyd, Shackelford, Barnett and Dixon (BSBD) based in Plano, Texas, has hired Matt Brost as executive vice president and Benefits Practice leader.

Brost brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the employee benefits space to BSBD. Most recently he served as the national head of Sales of a health innovation company.

At BSBD he is tasked with growing the agency’s employee benefits practice.

Boyd, Shackelford, Barnett and Dixon is an independent retail brokerage firm and specializes in serving clients with their property/casualty, employee benefits and high net worth personal lines needs.

BSBD has offices in Plano and Dallas and currently serves clients all across the United States.

Oklahoma Workers’ Compensation Commission

Oklahoma Workers’ Compensation Commission (WCC) Commissioner Jordan Russell has been named chairman, effective June 1, 2021.

Russell succeeds Commissioner Mark Liotta as chairman. Commissioner Liotta has made clear his intention to serve out the remainder of his term as commissioner in order to offer his support to a new chairman. His term expires Aug. 25, 2021; he was appointed to the WCC effective May 27, 2015.

Russell was appointed to the commission by Gov. Mary Fallin effective Oct. 4, 2016, and was reappointed by Gov. Kevin Stitt to a term expiring August 25, 2025.

Russell is an attorney who joined the commission after serving three legislative sessions as policy director and counsel to Oklahoma Speaker of the House Jeffrey W. Hickman.

The WCC operates with three commissioners on staggered, six year terms.
