IIAJC Tees Off Again in 2004

March 1, 2004

The Independent Insurance Agent Junior Classic (IIAJC), sponsored nationally by the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America, and the largest golf tournament in the country that results in one champion, tees off again this year.

Each year more than 10,000 young golfers compete in local and state tournaments, with the top 160 players advancing to the national finals. PGA and LPGA TOUR professionals play with participants during the third round of the national tournament, making the experience truly unique.

In North Carolina, competition begins with one-day, 18-hole regional qualifying tournaments to be held in eight locations across the state in June. The state tournament is a two-day, 36-hole weekend event held in Foxfire Village July 10-11. The Boys Long Drive Contest, sponsored by Great American Insurance Company, is after play on Saturday.

The national tournament comprises 72 holes with activities stretching over five days, including the 19th Annual Patrick Cannon Memorial Long Drive Championship. The 2004 national tournament is July 24-29 in Oklahoma.
