Summit Global Partners Plans Fla. Acquisitions

June 25, 2004

Insurance brokerage and consulting firm Summit Global Partners of Florida Inc. announced the promotion of two key executives as part of its expansion plans in the State.

Gary Morris has been named chief operating officer for the Boca Raton location, and Bruce Baker has been named chief operating officer for Coral Gables. Both will report to Jeff Haynes, chief executive officer of SGP of Florida and a member of the Office of the President of its parent company, Summit Global Partners Inc. that is based in Dallas.

“Both are highly organized, accomplished insurance professionals with extensive experience that will allow them to manage the operations of their respective offices,” Haynes commented. “This is the next step in our expansion plans in Florida.”

Morris has 32 years in the industry with brokerage firms and a major direct writer. He was with Boca Raton’s Century Financial Services when it was acquired by SGP in 1997. He is an Associate in Risk Management (ARM) and is active in professional and community organizations.

Baker has more than 26 years in the industry. He was vice president of operations with Lon Worth Crow when it was acquired by SGP in 1998. He is a Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) and has been designated an Associate in Insurance Services (AIS).

Fueling its future growth is SGP’s reported success in helping Florida’s middle-market and large-scale companies meet today’s challenges in managing risks, securing needed business insurance coverages and providing health insurance and other benefits to employees.

“The SGP strategy is to pursue mergers and acquisitions of the very best independent insurance brokers in strong business markets,” Haynes added. “We look for owners who are well respected by their peers and who share our client-centered philosophy.”
