Insurance Office of America (IOA) has announced the formation of Public Entities of America (PEA), a subsidiary operation specializing in insurance and risk management services for the Public Sector. PEA will service state agencies, cities, counties, school systems, utilities, and special districts.
Based in Atlanta, PEA operates on an open brokerage basis primarily in the southeastern states representing numerous insurance providers that offer a comprehensive range of insurance products and risk management services. PEA will expand its services nationwide in conjunction with the rapid growth of its parent company, IOA.
The PEA management team is led by Del Powell, President, and Bill Young, Vice President of Marketing, who together have over 45 years experience in the public sector industry. Previously, Mr. Powell spent 7 years with the St. Paul Companies, serving as Southeast Regional Director for the Public Sector Services division. Before that, he was a co-owner of Charter House Underwriters, Inc., a Public Sector brokerage operation which was subsequently sold to USF&G, which merged with the St Paul. Mr. Young previously served with St. Paul Public Sector Services, as Territory Manager for the states of Georgia, Florida, and the Carolinas. Overall, Mr. Young has 20 years of direct Public Sector experience.
