Meadowbrook Insurance Group Inc. announced that Roger S. Walleck has been promoted to regional vice president, in charge of its Florida Branch Operations in Sarasota. Walleck will oversee the commercial insurance business underwritten in Florida for Meadowbrook’s insurance company subsidiaries, including Ameritrust Insurance Corporation, Star Insurance Company, Savers Property & Casualty Insurance Company, and Williamsburg National Insurance Company.
Walleck has more than 20 years of commercial property and casualty insurance experience. In January 2005, he joined Meadowbrook as a vice president of Underwriting and Loss Control in its Kansas branch. Walleck was previsously underwriting manager, responsible for the New York division of the Liberty Mutual Insurance Group. Additionally, he has served as the vice-chair of the New York Compensation Insurance Rating Board Governing Committee.
“Roger brings much experience and leadership to our Florida operations,” Gregory L. Wilde, Meadowbrook executive vice president said. “Meadowbrook is committed to serving Florida’s commercial insurance market and Roger will be working closely with insurance agents in the state to strengthen Meadowbrook’s position in the workers’ compensation market in Florida.”
Meadowbrook is a specialty risk management company providing solutions for agents, brokers, professional and trade associations, and insureds of all sizes in the alternative risk market. It also operates retail insurance agencies representing policyholders in placing their insurance with unaffiliated insurance companies.
