Short Named National Advantage Insurance’s S.E. Marketing Rep

Doug Short has been hired as the Southeast marketing representative for National Advantage Insurance Services Inc. of Tustin, Calif., responsible for Alabama, Tennessee and Georgia.

“We have recently received approval in several southeastern states and were fortunate to find a seasoned professional to represent us,” Clifford Mapes, president and CEO said. “Short will work out of our new Atlanta marketing office.

“Doug’s role will be to get our name out there for our products. We are rapidly evolving into a national writer and with Short spearheading our Southeast efforts, we’re confident that our Southeast producers will receive the same quality service our California producers have come to expect.”

Short has more than 40 years of insurance experience. He was formerly marketing directory in charge of agency development with International Brokerage & Surplus Lines Inc. Prior to that, he worked with various carriers like Argonaut, Great American Insurance Co. and Hartford Accident and Indemnity.

Short has experience in both agency and surplus lines with firms like Southern Insurance Underwriters and Transportation Insurors Inc. He has worn many hats during his career – general manager, product development manager, senior marketing representative; and senior, commercial lines, large accounts underwriter.

According to Mapes, agents in Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee will now have more choices when they are looking for a knowledgeable wholesale general agents and surplus lines broker. The firm will write motor truck cargo, commercial auto liability and/or physical damage, professional liability, dwelling fire, personal umbrella and commercial property. More lines are being added as licensing continues.
