Burns & Wilcox Appoints Johnson, Goodman to N.C. Posts

Burns & Wilcox has announced the appointment of Susan Johnson as an assistant underwriter of transportation/inland marine for its Morehead City, N.C. office; and James Goodman has been named a personal lines underwriter for the firm’s exclusive national condominium program.

The appointments were announced by Karen Toler, branch manager, who said the additions represents Burns & Wilcox’s continuing growth strategy to offer global insurance resources through local, knowledgeable underwriting talent.

Johnson will be responsible for underwriting difficult-to-place transportation risks including construction vehicles or sand and gravel trucks and non-emergency medical transport vehicles or mobile diagnostic imaging centers. She will also underwrite a variety of transportation risks from physical damage to inland marine.

Johnson has extensive commercial lines background including more than 20 years as a commercial account executive with SIA Group in Jacksonville, N.C.

Goodman will be responsible for underwriting the office’s exclusive national condominium unit-owners program. The product provides catastrophic coverage to individual owners of condominium units in coastal areas. The unique program includes both windstorm and flood coverage in most cases eliminating the need for unit-owners to purchase three separate policies.
