January 30, 2006

The Florida League of Cities has announced a new insurance initiative called The Alliance. This partnership provides Florida public entities with a wide array of insurance coverages and service options that will enable them to design custom programs specific to their individual needs.

Through The Alliance, public entities will have access to the insurance and reinsurance markets including professional loss control services, seasoned insurance brokerage expertise and strong analytical resources, as well as a nationally recognized Fraud Unit.

“The Alliance Program dramatically expands the Florida League of Cities’ municipal insurance services capabilities,” Michael Madden, director of public risk services for The Alliance explained. “Fully insured or self-insured Florida public entities will now have the opportunity to experience custom designed insurance programs, exceptional claims management, integrated managed care and excellent customer service.

“By applying the Florida League of Cities’ unique insight and experience in dealing with local government issues, The Alliance will provide the public entity with the ultimate risk management solution,” he said.

Third-party claims administration will be provided through Unisource Administrators, Inc.; CHOICE Medical Management Services will provide medical care management; and Towers Perrin will provide brokerage services through its financial services businesses.
