Gibson, Ridge, Win 2006 Trusted Choice Big ‘I’ Junior Classic

Tommy Gibson of Pilot Mountain, N.C. shot a 138 over two days to place first in the Boys division at the 36-hole North Carolina Trusted Choice Big “I” Junior Classic (previously the IIAJC) championship on July 16 at Mid Pines Inn & Golf Club in Southern Pines, N.C.

Jordan Ridge of Greensboro, N.C. placed first in the girl’s division with a score of 142. Courtney Gunter of Matthews shot a 145 to place second. Jonathan Wade of Greensboro placed second in the boys division with a score of 140, followed by Michael Cromie of Cary, John Isenhour of Hickory and Taylor Zimmerman of State Road, all with a 141.

The top finishers now advance to the Big “I” national finals to be held July 29-Aug. 3, 2006 at Odessa Country Club, Odessa, Texas.

More than 300 North Carolina youngsters competed in seven qualifying tournaments around the state, with 120 winning spots in the state finals. The state tournament was sponsored by the Independent Insurance Agents of North Carolina, Allied Insurance, Keystone Insurers Group, T.M. Mayfield & Co. and other sponsors.

On the national level the tournament is sponsored by the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America and Allied Insurance.
