Alabama Gov. Bob Riley signed a $32 million appropriation bill into law to rebuild two Enterprise, Ala. schools damaged by a deadly tornado last month.
The March 1 tornado struck Enterprise High School and Hillcrest Elementary School.
“We will do everything we can to help Enterprise continue on the road to recovery,” Riley said.
Several officials from the Enterprise area were with Gov. Riley when he signed the bill in his office, including Enterprise Mayor Ken Boswell, Enterprise schools superintendent Jim Reese, Enterprise High School principal Rick Rainer, and Coffee County Board of Education members Len Sparks and Cynthia Covington.
Riley also took the occasion to present Mayor Boswell with a $160,000 check in private donations raised through the Governor’s Emergency Relief Fund to help with disaster recovery.
Riley attended the Enterprise High School prom to show his continuing support for the area’s recovery.
