A fire that damaged the office of an elementary school in Fairfield, Ala., was intentionally set, State Fire Marshal Ed Paulk said last week.
“There is evidence of a break-in and theft, as well as the presence of an accelerant,” Paulk said. “Beyond that, the case remains under investigation.”
The fire at Glen Oaks Elementary School on Highland Drive in Fairfield was reported at 9 p.m. on Aug. 5. The Fairfield Police and Fire departments are participating in the investigation.
