Board Members Named for Florida’s Citizens Corp.

Florida officials are filling out the board of governors for Citizens Property and Casualty Corp.

Florida Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater announced the appointments of Nancy Baily and Rob Wallace to the board.

Baily is a former chair of the Florida Insurance Council with nearly 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. She most recently served as the president and CEO of Travelers of Florida. Currently, she is the executive director of the Florida Chapter of the ALS Association, a non-profit that helps patients struggling with Lou Gehrig’s Disease.

Wallace is a former member of the Florida House of Representatives who represented Northwest Hillsborough and Northern Pinellas counties. He founded and serves as the president of the Environmental Engineering Consultants Inc., which assists property owners with engineering and environment risks.

House Speaker Dean Cannon (R-Winter Park) said that he is reappointing Carolos Lacasa and newcomer Christopher Gardner.

Lacasa is a former state legislator who currently serves as vice president and general counsel for Managed Care of North Florida. This is his second term on the board. Gardner is a shareholder with Kuykendall Gardner, and insurance broker located in Winter Park.

Senate President Mike Haridopolis (R-Melbourne) has reappointed current board members Carol Everhart and Tom Lynch.

Everhart is vice president of insurance services with the Tampa, Florida- based BB&T. She has been reappointed for a second term. Lynch is president of the Delray Beach, Florida-based Plastridge Insurance Agency.

Governor Rick Scott has yet to name his picks.

By law, the governor, CFO, the Senate President, and Speaker of the House are allotted two board members. Board members serve three-year terms.
