The popular ridesharing service Uber has announced plans to set up a Miami headquarters.
The company announced July 20 that it has signed a lease for about 9,300 square feet of office space at Brickell City Tower, located in Miami’s financial district. The company didn’t say how many people would be working in the office.
The Miami Herald reports that Uber recently announced plans to suspend operations in Broward County after July 31 because of what it called “onerous” regulations there.
The San Francisco-based company will continue to operate in Miami-Dade and Palm Beach counties.
