October 31, 2017

PointeNorth Insurance Group, an independent insurance agency in the Southeast with local ownership, has acquired Benton & Parker Insurance Services, a commercial truck insurer headquartered in Georgia. The company also acquired Cord & Wilburn Insurance, a Woodstock, Georgia-based insurance firm. As a result of these acquisitions, PointeNorth Insurance Group has $27 million in commissioned revenue.

According to Bill Skeeles, PointeNorth CEO, with the addition of Benton & Parker, PointeNorth is able to expand its existing transportation program.

Benton & Parker, founded in 1985 with locations throughout the Southeast, will continue to operate under its name and maintain its headquarters in Gainesville, Ga. Benton & Parker principals David Benton, Frank Parker and Thomas Louie are member-owners at PointeNorth Insurance Group.

Benton & Parker President, Frank Parker said the acquisition gives the company expertise from PointeNorth beyond transportation.

“We’re looking forward to gaining access to some new markets and insurance companies to serve our customers,” said Benton & Parker CFO, David Benton. “It’s an opportunity to continue to grow and expand throughout the Southeast.”

Through this merger, Benton & Parker will be an active member of the PointeNorth Alliance — a group that also includes the Caribou Insurance Agency and the McNeal Insurance Agency.

In addition to Benton & Parker, PointeNorth Insurance Group also acquired Cord & Wilburn Agency of Woodstock, Georgia. Rich Cord and Joe Wilburn will continue to offer their clients the same service, team and management under the PointeNorth Insurance Group brand.
