December 19, 2018

Insurors of Tennessee named Ashley Gold as CEO of the organization, effective Jan. 1, 2019.

Gold currently serves as general counsel for the trade association – which represents independent insurance agents in the state – a position she has held since 2008. She has been employed as a lobbyist with the association for over 17 years and is its first female CEO, according to Chris Allison, 2018 Insurors president.

Ashley Gold

Gold, a Nashville native, currently serves on the Tennessee Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Employee Misclassification Advisory Committee, and is a member of IA Action Partners, a group of Big I state association executives working toward common solutions to association issues.

Prior to joining the association, she was a practicing attorney in Birmingham and Nashville for more than 13 years, ultimately serving as the managing partner for Schulman, LeRoy & Bennett, P.C., where she represented clients in corporate law, real estate law, and workers’ compensation and insurance defense law.

Gold succeeds Charles T. “Chuck” Bidek who is retiring from his position as CEO of Insurors of Tennessee on Jan. 1, 2019. Bidek led the organization for over 32 years and has been employed with the group for 43 years.

Chuck Bidek

In 2002, he was honored by the association’s members with their highest award, the “Insuror of the Year.” In 2013, he was inducted into the Robert E. Musto Tennessee Insurance Hall of Fame at Middle Tennessee State University.

Over his time with Insurors, Bidek developed many programs for its members, including a marketing partnership with the Tennessee Titans that made Insurors and its partners the second largest advertiser on the Titans Radio Network. He has also worked on the Insurors annual convention, and overseen and actively taught continuing education courses to thousands of insurance agents throughout the state.

Insurors of Tennessee is a trade association that was founded in 1893 and currently represents almost 500 independent insurance agencies in Tennessee.
