Corvus Opens Atlanta Office, Hires Fehrman as VP of Cyber Underwriting

Corvus Insurance has opened an office in Atlanta, its fifth office location, and hired Joel Fehrman, who will serve as vice president of Cyber Underwriting based in the new office.

Fehrman joins Corvus with more than 10 years of experience in insurance, having focused on underwriting cyber insurance and technology E&O insurance for the previous nine years. Fehrman most recently worked for Beazley, and previously held roles at XL Group and CNA Financial.

At Corvus, Fehrman will focus on underwriting Corvus’ Smart Cyber Insurance product for clients across the Southeast.

The announcement comes one month after Corvus established its Dallas office, and three months after launching an L.A. office. The company now has locations in New York City, Los Angeles, Dallas and Atlanta, in addition to its headquarters in Boston.

Corvus Insurance is an insurtech MGA offering Smart Commercial Insurance policies paired with tools to reduce risk, prevent claims, and improve commercial insurance buying.

Corvus Smart Cyber Insurance and Smart Cargo Insurance policies include data gathered and analyzed with the help of AI to assess risk and inform underwriting.

Smart Cyber Insurance policies are distributed by Corvus on a managing general agency basis with its partner, Hudson Insurance Group. Smart Cargo Insurance policies are distributed by Corvus on a managing general agency basis with its partner, Argo Insurance Group. Policies are distributed through major insurance brokerage firms across the United States.

Corvus Insurance was founded in 2017 and is headquartered in Boston, Massachusetts. The company’s investors include Bain Capital Ventures, Hudson Structured Capital Management, and .406 Ventures.
