Tennessee Opens Insurance License Testing Centers in Rural Communities

December 30, 2019

The Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance (TDCI) has opened three new testing centers in rural Tennessee communities as part of its effort to better serve insurance agents and their customers in these areas, the department said in a statement.

The new testing centers where individuals may take their insurance producer exams will be run by a third party, Pearson VUE, and reduce costs and commute times for rural residents, TDCI Commissioner Hodgen Mainda said.

“The opening of these new insurance locations gives prospective insurance agents more choices and demonstrates, again, how we are fulfilling Governor Lee’s first executive order to help provide more opportunities in Tennessee’s rural counties,” said Mainda.

The three new testing locations are:

  • University of Tennessee at Martin. 211 Clement, Martin, Tenn..
  • Tennessee Technology Center at Hartsville. 716 McMurry Boulevard East, Hartsville, Tenn.
  • Tennessee College of Applied Technology. Livingston 740, High Tech Drive Livingston, Tenn..

These testing centers join the eight longtime testing locations located across Tennessee.

To schedule an examination, applicants must schedule an appointment with Pearson Vue. Appointments can be secured online. Testing days and times will vary and are subject to available hours and seating availability.
