Alabama Insurance Department Launches New Website

The Alabama Department of Insurance (ALDOI) has launched a newly designed website that features a new layout and simplified navigation and is also mobile-friendly.

“We are thrilled to debut our new department website” said Insurance Commissioner Jim Ridling. “We believe our new website lets us better serve Alabama insurance consumers, agents and companies, allowing them to find the information they need quickly and in a mobile-friendly format when they need it.”

The new website offers information for insurance consumers, including how to file a complaint, information on insurance companies, producers and agents, information on state insurance laws and regulations and FAQ’s.

Insurance producers can apply, renew, or print a license, view their CE transcript, check statuses, find exam sites, etc. There is also a new surplus lines section of the website that allows surplus lines brokers to submit ID-12 information on-line and to view/edit a list of ID-12s already submitted. In order to use these features you must be a licensed broker and have a user account.

Insurance company information is also available, including a company search, filing requirements, rate bulletins, forms, captives, and rules and changes to the Clarity Act, among other

Visitors can connect to the Alabama State Fire Marshal’s Office for information about fire prevention and safety, fire codes and regulations, fireworks permitting and, importantly, how to report insurance fraud.

Additionally, Alabama residents will be able to learn about the department’s Strengthen Alabama Homes grant program and learn how to apply for a home fortification grant.

The website also features a live chat for insurance consumers, licensees and others to talk directly with department officials.
