Insurance brokerage World Insurance Associates LLC (WIA) has acquired J.W. Edens & Co., Inc. (JWE) of Titusville, Fla. on Dec. 31, 2020. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Founded in 1997, J.W. Edens & Company is a retail insurance agency with three locations in Southeast Central Florida. The company’s top lines of insurance include employee benefits, homeowners, and general liability.
J. Wayne Edens, president of JWE, said the company grew from its original office in Titusville via organic growth and acquisition, adding additional offices in Indialantic and New Smyrna Beach. Today, it has a diverse client base with accounts of all sizes.
Giordano, Halleran & Ciesla provided legal counsel to WIA and Mystic Capital Advisors Group advised WIA on the transaction. Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis provided legal counsel to JWE and Sica Fletcher advised JWE on the transaction No other advisors, diligence firms or legal counsel were disclosed.
