Insurors of Tennessee has promoted Jim Layman to general counsel and appointed Daniel Smith as chief operating officer.

The two will continue in their efforts to help grow the association – which represents independent insurance agents across the state.

Layman, who joined Insurors in January of 2019, is responsible for compliance and legal issues, advocacy efforts, governance and committees. He previously served as director of Government Relations.

Smith, who also serves as the organization’s chief marketing officer, is responsible for many aspects of the association’s operations including communications, financial management, events, marketing strategy and the industry partner program. He has been with Insurors since March of 2007.

Insurors of Tennessee is a trade association that was founded in 1893 and currently represents over 400 independent insurance agencies in Tennessee. Its members offer consumers a “Trusted Choice” of insurance companies, advocacy and professional advice for their insurance needs.
