Markets & Coverage: Companies Offer Pre-Paid Rides After Accident

April 27, 2022

Policyholders with two Florida auto insurers will now be able to catch a pre-paid ride with Uber, Lyft or another ridesharing service after an accident.

Continued Mobility, headquartered in Boca Raton, announced that it has teamed up with Pearl Holding Group, the Florida managing general agency for Ocean Harbor Casualty Insurance and Equity Insurance. Policyholders can pay an extra $1 a month on their premiums for non-standard auto coverage, which will grant them up to four rides a year worth $20 each on a rideshare service, explained Josh Schlesinger, co-founder of Continued Mobility and ClaimRide.

Many times, he said, people involved in accidents are forced to ride with the tow truck or call a friend or catch another ride. By calling their adjuster or Continued Mobility at the phone number on their policy or insurance card, motorists will be hooked up quickly with a ride service, Schlesinger said.
