RPS Elevates Duffey as President of Signature Programs

Risk Placement Services, a specialty insurance distributor, announced that Russell Duffey will be president of its program administration division, known as RPS Signature Programs.

Duffey, based in Georgia, joined RPS in 2000 as a casualty lines broker. He has recently been vice president of market relations for RPS and area president in Roswell, Georgia.

As president of the Signature Programs, he will oversee admitted and non-admitted proprietary programs for niche markets, the company said. Duffey will report to Joel Cavaness, RPS president. Duffey holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Risk Management & Insurance from Georgia State University.

RPS, headquartered in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, said it manages specialized programs for a number of carriers.

Drumwright Named President at Starke in Alabama After 23 Years with the Agency

Kyle Drumwright has been with the Starke Insurance Agency in Montgomery, Alabama, for 23 years. This week he was named the first non-family member president of the firm.

“Kyle has proved himself with his work and the way he provides for our clients, and I could not be happier to pass the torch to him,” said Bolling “Bo” Starke III, who steps down as president after 26 years at the helm.

The Starke Agency began in 1929 when Bolling Starke and his brother opened it as Rawlings & Starke, the company said. In 1966, Bo Starke Jr. was named president. The agency offers personal lines and commercial insurance, as well as benefits programs.

Drumwright earned his bachelor’s degree from Auburn University in 1997 and his M.B.A. from Auburn University-Montgomery the next year, the company said in a news release. At the agency he has served as principal and as vice president of the surety/construction division.

Blackwell Captive Solutions Names Kennedy VP

Blackwell Captive Solutions, a medical stop-loss captive that’s domiciled in South Carolina, has named Arleigh Kennedy at national vice president for sales.

Kennedy has 25 years’ experience in insurance and has worked for some of the largest health insurers in underwriting, sales and product development, Blackwell said in a news release.

Blackwell, with recent funding from Carrick Capital Partners, said it works to use buying power to reduce health care costs for companies.
