Hurricane Debby Data Due to Florida OIR Thursday and Friday

August 7, 2024

The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation said it is reminding property insurers in the state to file Hurricane Debby claims data Thursday and Friday this week.

Insurers should use the Simplified 2024 Catastrophe Reporting Form through the Insurance Regulation Filing System to report the information no later than noon Eastern time on Aug. 8 and again on Aug. 9.

OIR said it will notify insurers if additional reporting dates are needed.

The data call is required by state law and allows the office to quickly compile information on the extent of claims resulting from the hurricane, along with the number that have been paid.

Debby made landfall in the Big Bend area of Florida early Monday as a Category 1 storm, bringing significant flooding to the area – an area that was hit less than a year ago by Hurricane Idalia. Idalia and Ian claims data are also available on the OIR website.
