Cigital and Counterpane Announce Strategic Alliance

Cigital Inc., a software risk management (SRM) solution provider that helps companies protect themselves from the business risks of software failure, and Cupertino, Calif.-based Counterpane Internet Security Inc., developer and leading provider of managed security monitoring (MSM), announced their alliance to provide customers with a complete computer security risk management solution.

Together, the companies will offer software risk management coupled with network security monitoring to form a comprehensive security protection plan for businesses, helping to identify and manage security risks.

Under the arrangement, Cigital will provide software risk management for Counterpane’s customers, and Counterpane’s network security monitoring services will be directly incorporated into Cigital’s full lifecycle software security risk management solution, extending the security protection for both companies’ clients. This combination leverages the power of proactive design and reactive vigilance to manage the risks of digital attack.
