FileNET Announces Acenza Underwriting and Policy Administration for P/C Marketplace

August 21, 2001

FileNET Corp., a provider of business process management solutions, announced the availability of Acenza Underwriting and Policy Administration, the latest addition to FileNET’s Acenza for Insurance suite of applications.

The new application is designed to enable property and casualty insurers to improve operational efficiency and customer service by streamlining their business processes and integrating web-based solutions with existing underwriting and policy administration operations and systems.

According to the company, with Acenza Underwriting and Policy Administration, policy processing time can be reduced by 45 percent or more because agents, or customers, can submit applications and supporting documentation directly to an underwriter via the web.

Once submitted, basic routing, pending, matching, distribution and escalation processes follow automated workflows that can be configured to each insurer’s individual requirements. In addition, the application gives customer service representatives the ability to fulfill customer inquiries by providing easy access to the comprehensive set of documents associated with an application.

Acenza Underwriting and Policy Administration aims to enhance existing back-end systems and applications with a seamlessly integrated business process and content management application that reduces operational expenses and improves bottom-line profitability. The solution achieves those objectives by automating repetitive tasks throughout the underwriting process and by eliminating redundant tasks. As a result, business process improvements including requesting and following-up on missing information; accumulating necessary reports; initiating and processing transactions; and finalizing and issuing policies to the customer, are dramatically improved.

Acenza Underwriting and Policy Administration may be implemented as a stand-alone solution or in conjunction with Acenza Claims Processing to provide a broad set of business process and content management applications. These applications can be integrated with one another to provide synergy throughout the organization, leveraging information between each of these otherwise distinct functional areas.
