CDI Unveils New Web-Based Search Program for Agents’ CE

September 26, 2001

The California Department of Insurance (CDI) Producer Licensing Bureau now has a new web-based search to locate education providers and course offerings. Agents will no longer have to wait for the listing of providers and courses needed to complete their continuing education, but can go online at www.insurance.ca.gov to locate a course to meet their needs.

There are two types of searches available depending on the viewer’s needs.

The “Provider Search” will return a list with the provider name, telephone number and a link to the courses offered by the provider. The “Course Offering Search” allows the agent to set criteria (i.e., license type, education type, etc.) to narrow the search field and return a list of courses that meet chosen criteria. The agent can then follow a link to obtain the course offering details.

Individuals searching for a pre-license course will also be able to locate courses and providers. CDI will continue to make the list of providers and their course titles available in print. However, the online information will not only provide better client service to agents and those interested in applying for a license, but will also save CDI mailing and copying costs.
