Woodruff-Sawyer & Co., a San Francisco-based insurance brokerage, announced the opening of its new venture, Woodruff-Sawyer Oregon Inc., located in downtown Portland. Woodruff-Sawyer has been serving the risk management and employee benefits needs of the Oregon market and determined it could better serve its clients with a local presence.
According to Woodruff-Sawyer Chairman Doug Morton, with many of the company’s larger competitors consolidating around their global brokering initiatives, the company noticed an increased discontent expressed by their clients and felt this was a good time to introduce a new player into the local market.
To date, Woodruff-Sawyer’s Oregon team will include Brett Bauer, Chris Brisbee and Gary McCann, who bring more than 30 years of combined industry and local experience to this new operation.
While Woodruff-Sawyer Oregon, Inc. is officially “open for business,” the actual office space, which will be located at 1001 Fifth Avenue, Suite 1208 in Portland, will be ready to move into in mid-January.
