Redwood City, Calif.-based ABD Insurance and Financial Services, a leading provider of global risk management and employee benefits solutions, announces the appointment of Sam Jones to the newly created position of president, Corporate Development.
Jones, who serves on the company’s executive committee and is a member of the Board of Directors, will be responsible for ensuring that ABD’s strategic growth and management initiatives are well defined, implemented and managed across all operating divisions. In addition, he will be responsible for all interaction with Greater Bay Bancorp, ABD’s parent. He will continue to work with Sales and Marketing efforts, maintaining established relationships with North Bay clients.
Jones joined ABD in 1993, expanding the company’s Petaluma office into the most complete insurance brokerage in the North Bay, handling commercial property and casualty and employee benefits as well as retirement, executive benefits, and personal insurance. Most recently as the executive V.P. of Branch Operations, Jones had profit center responsibility for approximately 38 percent of company revenues and about 40 percent of staff. His oversight included offices in Petaluma, Sacramento, Santa Cruz and Torrance.
