CDS Business Mapping, a provider in online hazard mapping, announced the launch of its Wildfire Hazard Model for Arizona, Colorado, and Washington. The Wildfire Hazard Model consists of highly detailed maps that identify areas that are susceptible to wildfire.
CDS’ Hazard model uses state-of-the-art mapping technology to create digital maps, which classify vegetation by burn potential. This service allows property insurers to perform brushfire lookups quickly and accurately, saving time and money, while limiting their exposure to devastating fire claims.
The hazard model separates the vegetation into four classes, ranging from extremely low to extremely high. These three additional states compliment the Wildfire Hazard Model coverage in California.
“The Wildfire Hazard Model is going to revolutionize the way property insurers identify areas that are susceptible to wildfires. With a few clicks of a mouse, insurers can identify properties throughout Arizona, Washington, Colorado and California that are at risk. It is quick, easy, and accurate,” explained Dan Munson, vice president of sales and marketing.
The new wildfire data is accessible through the company’s online risk mapping tool, www.RiskMeter.com.
