InWest Inc. Services, Tolman and Wiker to Merge

May 13, 2004

Santa Maria, Calif.-based InWest Insurance Services and Ventura, Calif.-based Tolman and Wiker Insurance, the Central Coast’s two largest, independently-owned insurance brokerage firms have announced their merger, effective Jan. 1, 2005.

Beginning operations in 1932 and 1923, respectively, the combined Tolman and Wiker and InWest companies will employ over 170 producers and staff. From offices in Ventura, Santa Maria, Monterey and Bakersfield, the newly merged firms will handle premium volume well in excess of $250,000,000, making the new entity, TWIW Insurance Services, one of the largest insurance agencies in the nation.

The new firm becomes one of the largest such agencies in the nation. The partners and staff of the combined firms comprise one of the largest collection of insurance professionals between Los Angeles and San Francisco. The firm will continue to operate from the existing offices in Ventura, Santa Maria, Monterey and Bakersfield.

“The cultures and operations of our two firms are remarkably alike,” Jim Pollard, secretary treasurer of InWest, said. “The commitment of our two firms to stay independent and our ability to make and keep promises to our clients, wherever and whoever they may be, is assured by this merger, indefinitely.”

“While change is all around us, the one constant has to be a firm’s commitment to serving its customers before itself,” Randy Kinsling, managing partner of Tolman and Wiker, said.
