California’s State Compensation Insurance Fund is hosting a free workplace safety “Office Ergonomics” workshop at its San Jose district office on Jan. 12-13.
The workshop is designed to help employers create safe workplaces, inform them about workers’ compensation regulations and ultimately reduce workers’ compensation costs.
Speakers include State Fund Safety & Health Services Department supervisor and ergonomics expert R.J. Banks, and Chris Shulenberger, director of ergonomics for Clayton Group Services, a provider of occupational and safety services.
All attendees will receive a complimentary CD-Rom entitled “Ergonomics: How May We Help You?” created by R.J. Banks and produced by State Fund’s Safety & Health Services Department. In addition, employers will receive a certificate of accreditation as well as training/reference material.
Seminar topics include:
*Understanding and preventing work related musculoskeletal disorders.
*Applying ergonomic intervention strategies.
*Developing and customizing an office ergonomics-training program.
