August 3, 2006

The Drive Group of Insurance Companies, the largest auto insurer through independent agents and brokers in the country, announced the completion of a new data center and document production facility in Colorado Springs, Colo. During the next several months, the company will install the systems required to further ensure uninterrupted service to the more than 30,000 independent insurance agencies that choose to represent Drive, as well as the millions of customers they serve.

The two-building, 175,000 square-foot project began in June 2005. More than 140 people are expected to be employed here; 39 are on-board today and more than 60 information technology openings are slated to be filled by year end. Current plans are to hire more than 40 additional people in 2007.

“This new data center will provide a high level of support for Drive’s agency-dedicated Web site, ForAgentsOnly.com (FAO), which helps independent agents and brokers who sell Drive manage and grow their business with us,” said Drive Insurance I/T Business Leader, John Kellackey.

The Progressive Group of Insurance Companies provides drivers with competitive rates and superior claims and customer service. The products and services of the Drive Group of Progressive Insurance Companies are marketed to consumers under the Drive Insurance from Progressive brand through more than 30,000 independent insurance agencies in the United States. Progressive companies using the Drive brand make up a group that is the largest writer of auto insurance through independent agents and brokers in the nation, based on premiums written, according to the company.
