September 6, 2006

Colemont Insurance Brokers has opened a new office in Phoenix. Marc Adler and Tim Downey, two experienced brokers, have joined the company to manage the new office and to serve as senior vice presidents.

“Our new Phoenix office is a key milestone in our U.S. growth plan,” said David Stevoff, chief operating officer. “Phoenix is an area where we expect a significant amount of development and a tremendous amount of opportunity. I’m delighted that we have signed up such an experienced team.”

Colemont – Phoenix is a full service wholesale brokerage office offering all general property and casualty insurance products with plans to develop several unique insurance programs. The new office will be a part of Colemont’s Southern California operations.

“The Southwest is very much a strategic market for us,” said Casey Hamlin, president of Colemont’s Southern California Offices. “Retail agents across the Southwest and Southern California continue to see new and complex insurance opportunities brought on by the region’s significant development. Our new Phoenix office positions us to be of even more help to them by allowing us to offer greater resources and a local presence.”

Prior to joining Colemont, Adler and Downey founded Adler-Downey of Arizona Inc. in 1998 and grew the company to more than $80 million in premium. Adler has spent his entire career in insurance working as a company underwriter before joining the surplus lines industry in 1988. Downey has also spent his career in insurance. He worked as a Lloyd’s broker in London before returning to the states to work as a program manager and surplus lines broker.

“We expect the move to Colemont to be a seamless transition for our customers,” Adler said. “Our contact information is changing, but we will continue to be as dedicated to partnership and service as we always have been.”
