Colorado Expands Guide To Compare Auto Rates

November 22, 2006

Colorado Insurance Commissioner David Rivera announced that the Division of Insurance’s interactive online service to compare auto insurance premiums has expanded from a five city/zip code area within Colorado to 21 cities/zip-codes. The tool allows consumers to determine which companies offer competitive rates based on consistent search criteria.

Colorado consumers can access the service by visiting:
http://www.dora.state.co.us/pls/real/Ins_Survey_Reports.Home. The online guide provides average premiums for different categories of drivers in a typical vehicle. According to Rivera, consumers can use the information as a baseline when shopping for insurance coverage.

“Colorado’s auto insurance market is highly competitive, with 204 insurers competing for consumers’ business,” he said. “The interactive guide is an important tool for consumers to use in choosing the right auto insurance plan.”
