Unigard Awards 12 College Scholarships

Unigard Insurance company of Bellevue, Wash., awarded 12 $1,000 scholarships to help defray the costs of a college education. Four scholarships went to dependents of the company’s employees, four went to dependents of staff employed at the company’s Permier Partner agencies, and four went to students in states where the company has offices. Awards are renewable up to three years, or until a degree is earned, whichever comes first.

Recipients included:
-Alex Bacon of Yakima, Wash., who will be a freshman at Western Washington University;

-Lesli Baker of Yakima, Wash., who will be a freshman at Eastern Washington University;

-Kenny Helmandollar of Salt Lake City, who will be a junior at the University of Utah;

-Mindi Helmandollar of Boise, Idaho, who will be a senior at Oregon State University;

-Adessa O’Shana of Hilmar, Calif., who will be a freshman at the University of California-Davis;

-Abbie Poirier of Wenatchee, Wash., who will be a freshman at the University of Portland;

-Lauren Reed of East Wenatchee, Wash., who will be a freshman at Washington State University;

-Jessica Starley of Twin Falls, Idaho, who will be a sophomore at Brigham Young University;

-Alexander Tarr of Everett, Wash., who will be a freshman at the University of New Orleans.;

-Sam Trautman of Renton, Wash., who will be a freshman at the University of Washington-Bothell;

-Brittney Tuomala of Fort Bragg, Calif., who will be a sophomore at the Culinary Institute of America; and

-Jeffrey Walston of Madras, Ore., who will be a junior at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
