Santa Maria & Co. Risk and Insurance, a Walnut Creek, Calif.-based provider of risk management services, has named a new chairman, and has made two new hires and a promotion.
Randolph L. Tom joins the company as non-executive chairman of the board with the role of leading expansion efforts and driving new valued service to clients. He is the founder of Dynasty Capital Services LLC, an advisor to multinational companies seeking to do business in China.
Also joining SMC are George Luther, who has been named vice president, business development and construction specialist. He will focus on business development, construction risk management, and head up SMC’s IT internal development programs. Luther was previously an assistant vice president with Allied North America.
Mark Cartwright comes to SMC from Aon Corp. and is taking on the role of account executive responsible for risk management and customer service.
Michael Borges, who has been a vice president with SMC for six years, has been promoted to director of marketing with expanded new client development responsibilities.
