Atlanta-based Beecher Carlson has appointed Garry Edwards managing director. He will take a lead role in growing the company’s property and energy practices on the west coast, and will operate out of the San Francisco office.
Edwards brings with him more than 28 years of experience in the insurance brokerage industry. His career started as a Lloyd’s of London insurance broker concentrating on North American accounts. During his nine years in the London market, he handled property, casualty and professional liability placements for insurance brokers in the United States. He moved to San Francisco in 1991 to work on large account business ranging from manufacturing to food industry as well as educational and healthcare industries for all lines of coverage.
Since 1996, Garry has specialized in property insurance placements for customers in the power and utility industry as well as the construction, real estate, retail and technology fields. He specializes in large account placements, layered and shared structures and designing solutions for customers with large catastrophic exposure. The above areas of expertise include replacement power coverage for power companies, warranty policies and renewable energy.
Edwards received the Lloyd’s of London US Surplus Lines Broker of the Year Award for 2005.
