Rancho Cordova, Calif.-based WIAA Insurance Services, the agency arm of the Western Insurance Agents Association (WIAA), has expanded its carrier portfolio with the State Compensation Insurance Fund, of California’s largest provider of workers’ compensation insurance.
The appointment not only offers WIAA agents another workers’ comp insurance program, it will help agents with accounts already placed with the State Fund due to the changes the State Fund is making to its distribution model. Effective January 2013, State Fund will raise the minimum volume premium requirement and release some brokers of their direct appointments.
“The State Fund is a welcomed addition to the WIAA Insurance Services’ carrier portfolio,” Jodi Wimmer, executive vice president and COO said in a statement.
As an aggregator/MGA, the company offers access to most top property/casualty writers to its agency members as well as selling insurance agents errors and omissions in its retail division.
