EPIC Names Chan Chief Financial Officer in California

Edgewood Partners Insurance Center has named Karman Chan chief financial officer in the firm’s San Francisco, Calif. headquarters.

EPIC’s current CFO, Michael Gonthier, will transition to a new position as chief administrative officer, assuming corporate responsibility nationally for agency operations, human resources, information technology, and project management, as well as playing a key role in mergers & acquisition due diligence and integration. Gonthier will continue to be based in Boston.

As CFO, Chan will be responsible for all finance and accounting functions across the organization. Additionally, Chan will provide support to the firm’s managing principals and branch leaders by assisting them with financial planning and economic modeling. Chan will also oversee all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for EPIC.

Chan_KarmanChan has more than 20 years of experience in operations, finance and accounting, and administration. A CPA by training, Chan has had exposure to the insurance and financial services industries. Prior to EPIC, Chan was most recently chief financial officer and turnaround officer at Pacific Pulmonary Services in Novato, CA.

Chan was chief financial officer of the large groups business unit at Blue Shield of California. She also spent six years with Charles Schwab and Co. Inc. in positions including vice president of corporate planning and analysis.
