Authorities say a man has died after being struck by an Amtrak train near Los Angeles.
Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey told the Orange County Register that Amtrak train 792 was on route to San Diego when it struck the man around 7 p.m. on Sunday.
Officials did not immediately release the man’s name and it’s unclear why he was in the train’s path. No other injuries were reported.
Humphrey says 126 passengers were temporarily stuck on the tracks as investigators examined the scene.
